Week in Review ~ 8/6

If only the weeks before school ends would go as quickly as the weeks before summer ends!  We had a pretty quiet week with not much going on.  At the beginning of the week we didn't have anywhere to go and did lots of staying at home.  I assume that's what we did, because I can't seem to remember.

Avery peed on the potty for me for the first time on Wednesday.  She had done it so much for Jennifer, so I was relieved to find she could use her pink potty at home.  We're just going to see where this goes and are still letting her take the lead.  I do think our reward system of one M&M for pee and 2 for poop is helping, especially since she gets very little sweets.  We met Lolli and Poppa Wednesday night for dinner since they were going to a funeral visitation close to us.

I took Avery to Lolli's early Thursday and had some time alone that morning.  Ned and I did our electrical walk-through after lunch, and Avery got home about 5 p.m.  Ned had dinner at the fire department, so Avery and I got Cracker Barrel to go.  Avery was so wound up after dinner.  She was tearing paper, finding things to dump out, and was just all over the place.  She was either really happy or falling to pieces...wired and tired.  Bedtime was a bit of a relief.

Our house was being cleaned on Friday morning, so Avery and I went to the pool.  We definitely needed a good cleaning but don't usually have it done in the summer.  However, the house we're living in is being shown Monday so we thought it might be a good idea.  We won't have to move before we're ready, and the house isn't going on the market, but I'm not pleased at all that we're back to living in a house being shown.  It was a great morning for the pool, and we were the only ones there.

Sadly, this is the only picture I took all week.

Avery enjoyed going back and forth between the big pool and the baby pool.  We got grilled cheese sandwiches and fries from the pro shop and had a fun picnic.  On the way home, we stopped at the office to see Daddy, Mimi, and Dixie.  All in all, it was a great morning for Avery.  That night we went to the Mexican restaurant and Mimi went with us.

It was back to the pool for us Saturday morning to meet Kristin and Emerson.  It was kind of rainy but we braved it anyway.  We were the only ones there again which is kind of nice.  We had a fun visit and left at lunchtime just as the rain was starting again.  Ned cooked a yummy dinner of filet mignon, mushrooms, baked potatoes, and cucumbers and tomatoes.  Avery ate some of everything and had a whole sweet potato.  She is definitely a steak lover.  After dinner we met Mimi and walked the dogs around the block.

We have a busy week coming up and I am surprisingly ready to get it started.  I'm just not ready to inch one week closer to summer being over.
