I can't contain myself any longer. Tomorrow is the big day!
Excited doesn't even begin to describe it. And I've got a hot date with plans to see it. Once I read the book and heard there would be a movie, I was eager to see it. Then, when seeing Water for Elephants, there was a big preview that only made the anticipation grow more. Each TV commercial, and there are tons, is just a tease. I can't remember the last time I saw a movie on opening night. I'm still contemplating how early we'll actually be getting to the theatre.
The Help was the second book I read on my Kindle. My goal was one book a month, and I'm proud to say I'm doing good so far. It looks like I'm actually one ahead since I haven't read a book this month. So far I've read:
I Will Carry You by Angie Smith
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult
The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by Ree Drummond
Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin
Something Blue by Emily Griffin
Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult
I would recommend each of these, although they are all very different. After my big night tomorrow night, I'll be on the search for my August read. It would be great if Nicholas Sparks could help me out.

I'm dying to see The Help too! And still haven't seen Water for Elephants but I want to. Have a fabulous datenight!
Please give a review when you see it. I loved the book!
Thank you for being so kind in expressing a difference of opinion in your comment on my blog. I do feel that some of the decisions we've made (breastfeeding, natural birth, ect.) are in GENERAL the best options and I try to say that whenever I discuss them. Of course, they will not be the best option for every family for more reasons than I could imagine, but I feel overall they are best. I also always try to explain that there are situations where we have chosen the "good" over the "best" for our children because it was in the overall best interest of our family OR because I simply felt the risk or benefit was so marginal it didn't matter. For example, I think breastfeeding past a year is probably better but the benefits seem marginal and for a variety of reasons, I think it will be in the best interest of our family to stop around 12 mo. Just wanted to further explain my opinions!
On a lighter not, I can't wait to see The Help; I loved the book! And I want to read Water for Elephants and the PW's book!
