We had another good week, although the honeymoon at school with the students ended as I was expecting it would. Just too close to the end of school, but otherwise everybody made it through the week just fine.
On Sunday I took Avery to church. No one was there when we arrived, but her buddy Liam pulled up as we were getting out of the car. No one was in my class, and we weren't early, so I went to Mimi's class. She had no students so I helped her take down a ton of things from her wall. Avery and I went to the store then came home for lunch. Then it was nap time, dinnertime, and Mimi came for a visit while we were outside.
We backed out of the garage Monday! I had a meeting after school to go over all of the end-of-year information. Can't complain about a meeting when it's one of the last. I don't remember what else went on. I halfway watched The Bachelorette before going to bed.
Tuesday was just a regular day. On the way home, "Call Me Baby" came on. Avery thinks it's "Call Me Baby" and likes to try to sing along. I figure if we sing "Jesus Loves Me" after that it kind of evens out.
Avery needed her sunglasses Wednesday morning. Maybe sunglasses spiff up her it's-early-and-I'm-off-to-the-sitter's wardrobe.
Avery has just started commenting on smells, and on the way to Jennifer's she piped up with "I smell somefin." It was a pig truck, but she first blamed it on a buddy. When I informed her it was in fact the pigs, she said they needed a change.
At home that afternoon, Avery and Sam got in some cuddling.
We had planned to go out to eat because we were supposed to close on the house and knew we'd be late. The papers weren't ready until we were already eating though. I tried to be smart and feed Sam before the food arrived, but for once, Sam took forever and our food arrived quickly. Ned finished feeding Sam once he was done. Somebody was happy to be at "Appeebee's.
We were finally able to close Thursday afternoon. Luckily our friend Chris was doing it and didn't mind us arriving with two children. Avery was sure she needed to do work on the papers in the conference room, so thankfully some coloring books were provided. Sam was happy in his car seat until he had a dirty diaper. He was happy to sit with Ned though so I just think he needed to get out. Since we were late finishing there, Avery and Ned went and got burgers for dinner. We enjoyed our dinner, got everyone to bed, and Ned went to drill. Sam slept from 8:30 p.m. to 5 the next morning! What a great way to celebrate being 3 months old!
I was happy to see Friday arrive. A movie in the morning for my students and then our back-to-back resources helped the day go quickly. I picked Avery up first after school so that we could surprise Lolli. We only visited for a bit because Sam needed to catch a nap in the car. Sam had another great week and doesn't seem to be getting too rotten. We ate dinner at home and had a fabulously boring Friday night. Sam slept from 8:30 to a little after 6. He has sporadically slept all night, but never going to bed that early and never twice in a row.
I got up with Sam Saturday morning, and Avery was calling shortly after. Ned spent the morning making a play area for Avery's outside toys and the swing set she'll get for her birthday. Ned says he has safety in mind, which I know he does, but he also wants a big mulched area so that he's not moving items to cut grass or having to weed around all those things. Avery has asked 100 times where her playground is so we probably shouldn't have told her what it's for. I was ready to go to the store before lunch but Ned was called to a fire. He was home quickly so I was able to go. Avery stayed home to play so I was in and out quickly. After lunch, Avery and Sam napped for two of the same hours. I did very little productive and enjoyed every minute. Avery checked out Bitty's seat when she woke up. Pooping on the potty is quite profitable.
We then got ready to go to Lowe's and out for a special evening.
Sam perfected his "You crazy girl" look that I'm sure he'll use many times in the future.
In between several bathroom trips at Lowe's, Avery found a tree just perfect for singing "O Christmas Tree." After 2 bathroom visits we checked out then went back in to look at swing sets. Avery said her tummy hurt but I convinced her to wait to use the bathroom at Chik-Fil-A.
Tummy troubles were forgotten once this yumminess arrived.
Sam couldn't stand to watch and not participate, so he dozed off.
We left Chik-Fil-A and made our first trip to Sweet Frog. Avery didn't want to walk on the shiny floor because it looked wet. She chose strawberry yogurt with marshmallows and M&Ms but quickly decided that my peanut butter with cheesecake bites was tastier. Sam had to miss out again but did wake up for a bottle.
It was such a fun family night, and it was actually easy and stress-free...until we got home. Sam needed to hop in the swing for quick nap, so when Avery started saying she needed to potty I sent her on and called Ned. Then she fell apart, and I assumed she had an accident. Her stomach was actually hurting. After all her bathroom trips, the yogurt was probably a poor choice. She recovered and went to bed, and Sam went shortly after her. Ned and I watched a Nascar Autism special since the Sadlers who were featured live here. Ned watched The Hangover 2 and I went to sleep on the couch. Sam slept again from 8:30 until after 6 the next morning. Now we'll have to decide what to do if/when the waking starts again.
