We all went to church Sunday morning for a breakfast honoring our preacher who is leaving. Sam did so well through it even though I had to wake him up at home. Avery enjoyed a cupcake before any breakfast food touched her lips. Miss Emily, the teenager who helps in Avery's class, wanted Sam to stay for Sunday School, so I left him. I checked on him once and he was fine, but the 2nd time he was getting fussy. This was Sam by the time we made the 2 minute drive home.
There was some play time after naps.
She's not totally squishing him...
I really don't know what we did the first part of the week. I feel like it was busy, but I'm not sure what went on. There was a bit of colonial reenacting thanks to my parents' recent trip to Yorktown.
I had a hair appointment Tuesday afternoon and Ned picked the kids up. We had our honors banquet at school Wednesday night, so I picked Avery up and took her back to my parents', and Ned picked Avery and Sam up from there. I got home in time to put Sam to bed.
Thursday was the last day of school! We had a meeting once the students left, and our principal passed out a sheet with teaching assignments for next year. If nothing changes (which I'm used to after the last 2 years) I'll be back in 2nd. Other than pre-K, pre-school, only one teacher remained in the grade she taught this year. She and I are the only ones staying in the rooms we were in this year. Needless to say, that's a lot of change, but I'm excited for 2nd grade and excited to work with the other teacher coming to 2nd.
We had a work day Friday so Avery and I picked up some treats from Bojangles for the people in my pod. She was happy to sample some of my Bo Rounds.
We worked until 11 a.m. and then went to lunch. Usually I'm done and able to leave after that, but moving all the 3rd grade stuff out and 2nd grade stuff in took some time. I was able to leave around 2 or 2:30. We celebrated with dinner at "Appeebee's" and I enjoyed my first adult beverage in two years.
Ned played in the Member-Guest golf tournament at our country club over the weekend, so he left early Saturday morning. Avery, Sam, and I spent the day at home, then I scooted to the grocery store once Ned got home. My parents came that afternoon to keep Avery and Sam while we went to the dinner/party for the golf tournament. Lucas was Ned's guest this year since he and Kristin are not in the club right now, so we picked them up and had a fun night. Avery and Sam did well for my parents and I stayed up far too late.

Those assignments always made me nervous! Second grade is my favorite but they all have advantages. Avery looks so precious with Sam. Evie is having a ball with Henry now that he is so mobile! I cannot believe how much can change in a year. Happy Summer Vacation to you!
I see you got Sam the KK anchor bubble ;) It looks so cute on him!! And do I spot the KK vintage sun bubble in the first pic?! We had pictures done in that at the beach, and LOVE it!!! I know you are glad school is OUT!
Aw, Avery looks so sweet with Sam! Love his little outfit!
