Construction ~ Week 16 & Week in Review ~ 10/8

On the house front, I have no idea what went on this week.  I'm assuming that the plumber continued unless he was finished and that the electrician continued as well.  Heating and air did not start because, of course, they're running behind.  Security is ready to start, and they're trying to decide if they're going to wait on the heating and air.  I haven't been to the house in a week so I honestly don't know what's been done.

We're still waiting on cabinet prices from 2 different places.  We were ready to go last Sunday to do one meeting, and the woman had a family emergency.  She won't be back until this Wednesday.  I'm starting to get nervous that the cabinets will hold us up.

We were supposed to meet with Clint several times this week to go over a few things.  I also want a date, or at least an estimate.  We were waiting on him Thursday, and he called to say he was late but that he had won the lottery.  Long, long, small-town story short, he won't be splitting his men, sub-contractors, etc. between us and another job like he had been doing for the last few weeks.  He says we'll be in a lot sooner than we think, but I wasn't thinking to begin with.  That should be good news, though, and we're hoping to finally catch up with him tomorrow.

As for our week, I kind of felt like this when it was all over.

It's terribly sad that that's the only picture I have this week.  I also can't remember much from the week, so I really need to go back to taking some notes all along.

I do remember that after our fun day Saturday, Sunday did not start off so well.  We seemed to get a late start getting ready for church, and then I realized that my black pants, the only option I had for church, were in the washer wet.  I ended up in a really bad mood because I had nothing to wear, and usually feel like I don't, but Ned has endless options.  Ned and Avery both ended up dressed for church while I was still fuming.  No one ended up at church.  It was totally ridiculous and totally understandable at the same time in my opinion.  We all ended up going to the store, but Avery and Ned went separately.  Avery took a good nap and I made cheese tortellini soup for dinner since it was cool outside.

During the week, Ned had several meetings but was able to be home before them.  We celebrated making it through half the week on Wednesday by getting pizza.  After Avery went to bed, I made pumpkin cookies.  Ned loves them and I think they are pretty delicious as well, even for breakfast.

Avery had a good week and adjusted well to a new baby at Jen-Jen's.  She even had to big potty days on Thursday and Friday, going several times each day.  She's been peeing and pooping on the potty there for awhile now, but she peed frequently those days.  She even pooped for us at home Friday night.

I had a hair appointment Friday, so Ned picked up Avery.  I brought home crab legs for Ned and I for dinner.  Our plan was to wait until Avery was in bed, but we were too hungry.  Avery ate her dinner and then played nicely while we stuffed ourselves.

Saturday was a much-anticipated day to myself.  I shopped and picked up some tops that I can wear now, some maternity and some not.  I have some pants from when I was pregnant with Avery, but I need a few more.  I had no luck in that department.  Summer babies and winter babies require whole new wardrobes.  I wasn't feeling the best, but I still stopped at Barnes and Noble and Target on the way home.  I also made a quick Sonic detour since it was happy hour.

Avery and Ned had a big day together.  There was a dog show in the park, so they walked to that with Mimi.  They sold hot dogs for lunch and that was a big hit.  She took a nap, then she rode with Ned and Lucas to Lolli and Poppa's.  She stayed there while they hunted, and I took dinner there.  Avery was covered in stickers after another great day on the potty.  She went a total of six times yesterday but was still wet some.  I showed her her new training pants and more potty books which were very exciting.  We headed home for bed after dinner.  Once Ned got home I quickly fell asleep on the couch.  I'm fairly sure Avery has a cold and I have one coming.

Potty note:  We've only had one success today (Sunday) on the potty, and that was a poop just before bath.  Our sitter has assured us that sometimes it's one step forward, two steps back.  The training underwear are just to have when we're ready, and I bought a pair of princesses underwear as fun encouragement.  She's still not telling us that she needs to go.  I'm in no rush, because I do think diapers are easier.  However, I want to make sure that if Avery is telling us she's ready to be potty trained that we're doing what she needs.  I'm relying heavily on Jennifer who has done this so many times.  If we're in diapers for a lot longer, that's fine, but I don't want it to be because we pushed her too soon.
