Nathalie at Welcome to Nathalieland nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Like Nathalie, I was happy simply because I kept thinking of random things I could share! I'm thankful for the nomination and thankful that she stumbled across my blog awhile back and left me a comment.
I'm not going to nominate anyone for this since I think just about everyone has been covered. Since I'm not doing that, I'm not going to post the rules either, as I'm just breaking them. But, I am going to post 7 random things about myself.
1. While I'm not always spotless or perfectly organized, I do have some OCD tendencies about how things are put away, especially in the kitchen. When putting away items that we have multiples of (dishes, Tervis Tumblers, silverware, etc.) I want the recently used items at the back so that we're not constantly using the same 4 forks or whatever all the time. Ned unloads the dishwasher frequently, and while he says he shuffles the items, I'm fairly sure that he in fact does not.
2. I call Ned each day when I leave school and have since we started dating. I also talk to my mom most days once I get home.
3. I have a very large personal space bubble. It is especially strong if I'm sitting down or am on the beach. I know beaches up North have people packed on top of each other, but please look around and see that we don't do that here. My family jokes they need to mark off my space with caution tape. Also, please do not push your cart so close to me or my cart in the grocery store line.
4. I hate glitter. It gets all over my hands and then all over everywhere and stays for YEARS. I feel there is no need for glitter on cards or gift bags, and if you've given Avery something with glitter, I apologize, but I've probably thrown it away.
5. I am a third generation teacher and piano player on my mom's side. My grandmother was legally blind and played beautifully by ear. I hate that I stopped playing in middle school and need to get our piano tuned so that I can attempt to work at it again. I also played clarinet in middle school and was pretty good.
6. All of my collections are Christmas related. I have several Hallmark ornaments series, one of which is very large. I also have 30 or so Possible Dreams Santas. I love Christmas and think about it all year. My mind is resting much easier now that I know what Santa will be asked for this year. Usually with Avery I knew at least a year in advance. Her opinions have really thrown off my game.
7. Aside from my own back to school woes, I'm having a terrible time thinking about Avery starting school, and she's not even going this year. First day pictures and dropping off at college pictures are putting a lump in my throat, and the two posts from Enjoying the Small Things about the first day of Kindergarten brought on the ugly cry. Maybe I'll get it all out this year?
I hope you've enjoyed a few more random things about me!

We have so much in common! I like my utensils stacked in like piles in tray in drawer too. Carl thinks that is crazy!
1) I'm the same with putting away clean dishes, especially with our wedding china. Used & clean ones go at the bottom of the stack please!
4) I HATE glitter cards too. Can't stand how it always gets on my hands. You'll never get one from me!
7)Just read the blog post about the first day of Kindergarten (had never read this blog before).. Bawled my eyes out! I can just imagine Emily being the little girl sitting and crying alone.. Breaks my heart like nothing else.
Thanks for sharing!!
