Our big buddy bellied up to the table tonight for his first taste of solids. First on the agenda was checking out his seat. That seemed to be a hit.
Sam is still getting oatmeal in his bottle, so we went straight to orange veggies and sampled sweet potato tonight. The first bite kind of rolled back out of his mouth and onto the strap of the chair. That's ok, he'd rather chew on those anyway.
He got the hang of it quickly but couldn't decide if he was a fan.
It was serious business each time more food went into his mouth.
We could get some smiles when his mouth was empty, though.
During the last few bites he started doing "the shiver." Do your children do that? Avery still does at 3 when she eats something she doesn't like. The shiver caused some food to land on the nose, which brought on a smile.
He didn't even eat half of a small container, but we'll be back at it tomorrow night. If the speed at which he eats his bottle is any indicator of his hunger, he'll be gobbling it up in no time. It is so hard to believe that my tiny baby is now joining us at the dinner table.
