Nothing like being behind, but I guess this is the only way to catch up. On Sunday, we stayed home since Avery had been under the weather, and since she was up again before 6 a.m. I'm not really sure what we did most of the day!
We took Avery to the doctor on Monday to have her checked out since her urine was still dark. Our pediatrician did not feel like she needed to do a catheter, but since Avery wouldn't go on the potty there, we had to take things home to get a specimen. I had a terrible headache, and when we got home I left dinner and bedtime up to Ned and got on the couch. I finally got up around 9 p.m. and ate a little dinner then went to bed. I'm usually good for one migraine a month, although they are typically not as frequent while I'm pregnant.
On Tuesday night Ned had to set up for his Duck's Unlimited Banquet which was Wednesday night, so it was just the girls both nights. I went to Turtle Creek Farm with Avery Wednesday and went to school at 12:00 p.m. The students went home at 2:00 for conferences which was nice. Lolli picked Avery up since I was at school until 5:00, and we had dinner with them. I noticed I was feeling very full and my heartburn was pretty bad.
I woke up Thursday morning about 4:30 feeling sick. I was just sure I would get sick when I got out of bed, but I didn't. I felt so weak and terrible, but I went to school anyway. By lunch time I'd had enough and went home. I slept most of the afternoon and then the virus actually hit. Ned left after Avery went to bed and I tried to make Jello. My seldom-used back eye evidently had grease in it from where Ned fried chicken, and it caught on fire. Luckily, this had happened at my house when I was young (and coiled stoves were the norm) and my mom put it out with salt. So, to the salt I went! We do have a fire extinguisher, but I knew I would make a mess. The salt was not as quick as I wished, though, and I did think I was going to have to pull out the extinguisher. I called Ned to come check things out, and I sat on the kitchen floor and ate my soup to keep an eye on things. Ned vacuumed out the salt and said we were good. Yikes.
I slept most of the day Friday and still had no appetite. I made sure I was drinking, and that was about all I could do. Ned was taking care of getting Avery to Jennifer's, picking her up, and everything else. He also picked up things to do another urine specimen. The first one was a bit confusing so we're still trying to determine if she has a slight UTI.
I thought I was better Saturday but realized I wasn't after eating. Ned was home again, then he took Avery to Lolli and Poppa's after her nap to spend the night. It helped to have a quiet house for awhile, especially since she continued to wake up before 6 a.m. each day. I finally called the OB on call to get something for the nausea, so I went out and picked that up.
Sadly, I didn't spring back to life after all that, but I'm happy to report that almost halfway into this week, I think I'm going to make it. I don't know if I had Avery's lingering bug, or if I picked something up at the pediatrician's. I had the stomach virus with Avery and missed a week of school, and I think this time I had reflux starting as well.
I need to get caught up on our rainy Halloween, and tomorrow is our big ultrasound day! First and foremost, we pray that all looks well with the baby. Although the kicks and turns didn't always feel well with my stomach this week, I was thankful for such constant movement. After the healthy report, we're hoping the baby shows what he or she is so that we can share that as well! We will be thrilled no matter what and are just so excited.

Yikes! Seems like you haven't been able to catch a break. Glad you are feeling up to par for tomorrows appointment.
So glad you are starting to feel better! Hope you guys can rid the germs for awhile! So glad they didn't have to do the catherer on Avery...Paisley had that done when she was so sick that year on vacation and it was not pleasant at all! It was worse on me seeing them do that than her I think! Can't wait to hear pink or blue:-)
