Ned was in Kiawah Sunday for the PGA Championship. I did not brave church with 2 again, but my parents came before lunch. We visited and then went to the Sign Pancake (also known as Cracker Barrel). We had a good lunch with everyone behaving. Kristin and Emerson came after naps to play for awhile. Avery was a little busy after not taking an actual nap, but we had fun. After they left it was dinner and bedtime. Ned got home a little before 11 p.m.
Monday we were home with not much going on other than our normal activities.
I took Sam to the doctor Tuesday morning and Avery tagged along. Our concern turned out to be nothing, and his ears and chest checked out fine after running fever over the weekend. I'm sure it was the tooth popping through Saturday. He had grown 2 pounds since 4 months and is ready for solids at any point, so I may start them next week since he turns 6 months during my first week of school.
We all went to my school Wednesday morning so that Ned could help me move my bigger furniture. I was excited to find a SmartBoard in my room, but it totally threw off my arrangement, and rethinking things is not always something that comes easy with 2 kids in tow. We were in and out in an hour, but it was still lunch time when we left. We decided to brave Dairy Queen even though I didn't have a bottle for Sam. We had to wait a long time for our food but he was fine there and in the car. Ned ran some errands that afternoon and then I went to print pictures. I'm hoping to be caught up soon. Does anyone else still print pictures for albums??
We didn't do much Thursday morning. My mom planned to come that afternoon to go to Shoney's for hot fudge cakes. Of course that was a day that Avery napped and I had to wake her up. Mom and I enjoyed hot fudge cakes and Avery had a bowl of ice cream. Sam had to settle for a bottle. Our Shoney's has the little front sun room like many do, and the windows up to the ceiling were reflective. Avery kept asking to eat "up there."
Friday was our last day of real summer vacation. We enjoyed our day at home then went to FoSho for dinner. Sam has been doing so well going out to eat, although I'm sure I just jinxed that.
On Saturday morning I prompted Avery to tell Ned that she wanted a cheese "bixsit" for breakfast, so he went and got breakfast from Bojangles. We were home during the day other than Ned and I each running errands and grocery shopping.
Our pictures this week were kind of random.
I tried on this 12 month bubble to get an idea for sizing for fall in winter. Why isn't it huge?
The shades are always upside down.
Enjoying our last jammie morning.
I finally loaded some of Avery's apps on the iPad Friday morning and let her play.
Avery also watched a full "Doc McMuffins" Friday and then checked Sam out completely.
It's a cruel joke when napping is not everyday and when it happens it goes on so long that I have to wake her. I can't remember the last sleeping picture in her bed.

Holy crap I swear to you, we used to go to Shoney's with my Granny and get hot fudge cakes!!! They were SO good. We lived in Elizabeth City so that was about 45 min from VA and we would go! Isnt that hilarious?!?! Oh man I bet they are still good! LOL
I'll have to try a hotcake soon. Haven't been to Shoney's in years. Might be worth the trip. Smart Boards were just getting popular when I left the classroom. It makes me nervous to think of all the changes that are happening in education while I am home losing brain cells. YIKES!
