Pizza and Poodles

Try to refrain from pinching the screen as you read about the first night of our Halloween weekend. Trick-or-treating was tonight in Emporia, so we planned to walk around my in-laws' (Mimi and Grandaddy) neighborhood. We got a bit of a late start and seemed to have enough stuff to stay for a week. On the way to get our pizza dinner I remembered we had no chair for Avery to sit in, and when we arrived I remembered I had pulled out bibs but hadn't packed them. At least we had Avery! Mimi's good friend Nan was staying with her and enjoyed pizza with us. Avery refused the pizza (got to work on that) and didn't get much dinner. We got her all dressed and took a few pictures before heading out.

Here is Avery all decked out. She was too busy terrorizing Mimi's living room to notice she was all dressed up. She got a few squeaks out of her shoes and didn't seem to mind as much as she did the first time. The squeaks are not precious enough to keep the squeakers in full time though.

We made a few stops just to say we had, and so that Ned could get candy. Avery had her kitty treat bag but didn't quite catch on to the whole candy thing. I'm sure it will be a different story next year. The neighborhood was busy to say the least.

Avery enjoyed cruising around in her wagon. We thought we would try it out tonight and then decide if we need the stroller tomorrow night. She was so busy looking that she never tried to get up. Not being strapped in made it much easier to get in and out.

After a trip around the block we visited at Mimi's for awhile longer. Avery enjoyed seeing the trick-or-treaters at the door and would have probably enjoyed greeting people all night. Our early bedtime is a little tricky on nights like this, but she did great staying up a little later. We're already excited about trick-or-treating with Lolli and Poppa tomorrow night. I'm hoping for a cake walk at the party, while Ned is simply excited about more candy.

She is ADORABLE Whitney! What a super cute costume, I LOVE it! That may be an idea for our lil group next year! WE had so much fun dressing them together as The Wizard of Oz! Hoping to post about our Halloween weekend soon...ours too was FULL but FUN for the most part!
